As TN governor calls for gun reform, no GOP lawmakers say they’re working on it

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — On Tuesday, Gov. Bill Lee stood alone as he asked for lawmakers to pass a bill to keep guns away from dangerous people. However, it isn’t clear who is working to write that legislation.

News 2 asked every Republican lawmaker after the governor’s announcement who is drafting the “Order of Protection” law, but no one said they were working on it.

Only ‘red flag’ bill filed so far killed in TN House

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN)– Gov. Bill Lee has said he wants state lawmakers to draft an “order of protection” bill before the end of this year’s legislative session. But with the last day of session appearing to be coming in the next six to eight days, that goal is looking increasingly less likely.

In particular, it’s because Democrats’ version of a “red flag” bill, which they say they were open to amending, was voted down Thursday in a House committee.

  3. Gov. Lee figured he'd get a fellow Kentucky asshole politician to assist him. So he called Mitch McConnell he said:: "Hey Turtle get your drunkin' ass over here".

  4. I’m all for “gun reform” they can start by getting rid of all current infringements on a citizen’s right to bear arms.
