Following OPEC’s announcement last week that it will cut production by more than a million barrels per day beginning in May, the national average cost for a gallon of gas increased by seven cents to $3.55 for the week ending April 6, according to the latest AAA gas prices report.

ReplyDeleteHere in the Oregon Outback it just jumped from $3.99 to $4.09 last week. Granted, we're at the tail end of a long, precarious supply chain, and entirely too close to Califruitopia, but it is irritating.
ReplyDeleteNotice how nobody talks about peak oil anymore? That's because the doomsayers have all realized there's not actually any such thing. ALL oil shortages are 100% artificial.
ReplyDeleteBut we can all buy electric!
It won't be HALF as reliable.
It won't run nearly as far before you have to "refill."
You won't be able to tow as much.
Despite claims, in 5 years your battery will be FUBAR and at that point it's cheaper just to buy a new vehicle.
Oh yeah, there's not nearly enough power available, and that can't really be dealt with. Maybe some new gas fired power plants can help.
