Now they'll be banging their wind chimes whenever they get hungry

A squirrel who visited a UC Berkeley microbiology lab has learned to ring a bell for service.

Researchers befriended this little guy by feeding him almonds. They trained him to ring a bell on the window ledge next to the lab whenever he wanted a treat.

  1. Pavlov's dog. Behaviorism works with kids too. If they fuck up and you punish them they learn to not repeat that behavior. We are lacking in that dept in a big way nowadays.

  3. We have a large bird feeder. When it gets empty enough that the seed doesn't flow out into the tray, this Chickadee will peck on the plexiglass enclosure. That's my cue to go out and fill the feeder back up. Damn bird has me trained.
