So what's a piece of meteorite going for these days?

    I know a young lady who has a really cool necklace made of a highly polished spherical chunk of meteorite. I HIGHLY recommend you run a geiger counter over it before you try to do anything with it. Never trust a chunk of metal from space.

    It depends on the type of meteorite--some are a few dollars per gram, some are worth more than their weight in gold.

    A confirmed Lunar or Martian meteorite can be worth over $1000-3000/gram.
