Against a car thief who knows what he is doing, those things are worthless. 30 seconds and a hacksaw will cut through the steering wheel allowing you to remove it.
Expensive clubs are like facemasks. They might make you feel good, but in reality they're useless. Back in the day, when life was less complicated, to keep my car from being stolen I popped the hood and removed the distributor cap.
