The Easiest Way to Fix Flaking Seasoning on Your Cast Iron

I "borrowed" one of Mom's cast iron skillets in 1973. It was well-seasoned when she got it from Grandma in the early '50s. Since then I have used it to cook countless steaks, chops, biscuits, gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs and cornbread.
Sand blasting works for me.
