The most Tennessee thing you'll read about all day

A Tennessee dog was rescued Monday night after falling over 50 feet into a cave, officials said.

Shaker, a hound, fell between 50 and 75 feet after smelling a raccoon and chasing the animal in a wooded area near the town of Bean Station, dog owner Jacob Reed told WVLT-TV.

  1. Onetime my childhood hound "Tony" became so focused on chasing a squirrel that leap onto a low space in the tree. Once there he realized that he didn't know how to get down! I had to climb up, gather him and jump with him the 4-5 feet to the ground.
Years later upon returning from "Down South" his greeting brought to mind that of Argos greeting Odysseus.
Still later, I sat with Tony as "Crossed the Bridge".

  2. Bean Station. The original town got drowned when they samned the river. Apparently, the new town is merely a facade if the old since the residents very begrudgingly moved out.
