Can't afford to live there, can't afford to drive there

Democrat-run New York City is ready to hit residents and visitors alike with a “congestion charge” after federal approval was granted Monday for its first-in-the-nation plan to impose big tolls to drive into the most visited parts of Manhattan.

  1. I avoid that shithole city (and all others) at all cost.

  2. I grew up 2 miles from NYC, 1 mile into Jersey and the walk across the George Washington Bridge was 1 mile...spent a lotta time there, back in the day, walking over to Harlem to buy a bottle of Boone's Farm Apple wine for .99, as Harlem was burning in 68...it was a terrific place to go, and even Rudy Giuliani cleaned it up nicely before the other assholes took it over, and totally fucked up my city...$23 to drive south of 60th Street, fuck them, you couldn't pay me anything to consider going back to the dump, even for a brief visit...this could very well be the beginning of the end for NYC, good fucking riddance, you allowed this to happen, you get what you deserve...jeez!

  3. The place has been corrupt since it was New Amsterdam. The level of corruption exceeded, only just, by Chitcongo.

  4. Get the cars out and you're that much closer to the "15 Minute City"! You can walk...

  5. I wouldn't step on NY nor Kommiefornia soil if it was the last patch of dry land on Earth. I'd rather drown.

  6. Hmmmm - office occupancy in NYC is at 48.4% according to the NY Post. Did any one even consider what a $23 per day cost per employee is going to do to the desirability of having an office in NYC? Either the company pays the fee which gets expensive fast or the employees does which decreases their desire to take a job in the city. What fool rides the subway these days unless they HAVE to?

The obvious idea was to raise revenue for the city but I think it's going cost them a lot more than it raises.

    1. As long as the city collects more revenue, nothing else matters.

  7. Expect to see more of this in response to climate change and air emissions. This is all part of the grand plan to electrify the automobile industry and get rid of fossil fuels.

  8. I forgot to add that you can expect this same legislation to hit all Democrat run cities within the next five years as this plan was being discussed in Obama's first term.
