“The taxman is fully loaded at the expense of the taxpayer,” Ernst said in a statement. “As the Biden administration has worked to expand the size of the IRS, any further weaponization of this federal agency against hardworking Americans and small businesses is a grave concern. I’m working to disarm the IRS and return these dollars to address reckless spending in Washington.”

Special Report: Biden Weaponizing IRS Into a Well-Armed Paramilitary Force
U.S.A. — Iowa Senator Joni Ernst introduced a bill last week titled “Why does the IRS Have Guns Act,” which would prohibit the IRS from buying or storing guns and ammunition, transfer all IRS firearms to the General Services Administration so they could be auctioned off to licensed gun dealers to reduce the national debt, and move the agency’s Criminal Investigation Division to the control of the Justice Department.

Asset based currency or private currency (as in John Wick) will be black market... and here the no knock IRS spec ops teams are needed.
For the noncompliant.
It's a nice gesture, and will probably garner some votes. However, you can rest assured it'll die in committee. No senator wants to risk an in-depth audit by voting for it.

I think the IRS should be nothing more than an accounting agency. If law enforcement action is needed, that belongs to the Department of Justice, like Senator Ernst says. It is the only way to keep the government in control, by keeping them in their own lane. A joint raid between the IRS and the ATF is asking for trouble, at least trouble for the American citizen who will end up with their rights being trampled before they are incarcerated for a very, very long time.
DeleteDon't make threats about harming IRS agents, on a blog, especially one that gets so many people viewing it. Because now if an IRS agent is harmed you are on the short list, and no doubt that is not the good list to be on. The out of sight out of mind saying is a saying because it is true.
I remember reading that the French have better op-sec in time of peace than Americans
have during time of war. That is something we need to all take a lesson from and understand.

The IRS and ATF did in fact raid a gun shop in Montana last week, with the IRS confiscating all the 4473s - you know, the forms that have absolutely no financial stuff at all on them? Why would they IRS confiscate them? Because by law, the ATF can't. I bet they weren't even out of the parking lot before the IRS handed them over to the ATF.
DeleteI read that about the two depts., which is why I said that they have no business being together on a raid. I think that non law enforcement agencies should not be allowed to be enforcing laws. We have a group to do that, called the DOJ, whose function is to deal with criminal justice. If they are not doing the job, then we can fix them, but not two dozen different agencies who all report to other people, that pass the buck to someone else.
DeleteIt's not a way that you can count on any transparency or accountancy.
"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

So, I guess Tanks, armed Blackhawks and F35's are in the offing for the future.

ReplyDeleteHK416's? It is amazing how prescient the Founders were about government.
ReplyDeleteAmericans are too weak, lazy, and apathetic to do anything about it. Because the IRS would be crippled if enough of them submitted handwritten half legible returns.
