Dory, a German shepherd dog, fell from a cliff in Ecola State Park near Cannon Beach at around 7 p.m. Wednesday. A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria was dispatched to rescue the injured dog.
The dog fell more than 300 feet down a nearly vertical cliff from a hiking trail in the park, according to a Twitter thread from USCGPacificNorthwest.
Just an FYI, haven't heard much about it, but in the last few weeks, 2 police K9s have died, left in a police vehicle, unattended. Fuck the police. Makes me angry that I have to agree on any issue with the left, even for different reasons.
I hope you saw some of the rescues on Deadliest Catch.
There's nothing like hanging in a basket in almost hurricane force winds in a Bearing Sea winter. Especially when the pilot is up against a cliff face, concerned about the closeness of the rotor blades to the cliff. Then they'll tell you it's all in a day's work.
