Yeah well, that's the Haight

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Three months after opening Sandy's, Peterson Harter was assaulted while closing the security gates of his sandwich shop in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood.

"I was in the process of closing. So, I'm kind of defenseless because my hands are here and he just comes down and pops me like that. That is why I have a hit from here down. Chipped my tooth a little bit here too," said Peterson Harter, Sandy's owner.

His black eye tells a story of frustration. His story now reaching thousands of people on social media. He says it all happened after he confronted a person urinating outside his shop.

*****

He didn't know what the neighborhood was like before he opened his business? Or did he think he was special? Inquiring minds want to know.

  3. "I can't believe I live in a city where people can just piss in the street" Haha the same city has a interactive feces map since 2019, because people got tired of stepping in waste and he's surprised they piss wherever, whenever.

  4. Heh, the victim (heh) wants piss-and-punch man to do community service. Good one. 100 hours of sweeping the street, HIS street.

Question is just WHO is going to make piss-and-punch man do his community service?

    WHO is man enough?

  6. A sandwich shop in San Fran named Sandy's. I'd hit him just for the stupid, cutesy alliteration.

  7. Simple solution would be Porta-Potties - problem is, that was tried a few years ago and the buggers just wound up living in them.
WPA type program might work, but they’d have to have the political will and spine to make it happen and stick. First one of the poor oppressed who got a little hurt the lawsuit would be tremendous. You’d have to wrangle some kind of legal immunity.
In the meantime, if a few of the locals were willing to take a more vigorous approach to educating these jackasses, it might begin to help

  8. Nothing is going to change in places like that until there is a sufficient die off. Problem is, that is THEIR plan. Us included.
