California gas prices soar to the highest point of the year

Gasoline prices in California have surged to the highest point of the year and are approaching prices seen last summer, according to the American Automobile Association.

According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded in California was $5.26 on Tuesday, up 10 cents over the past week and 37 cents over the past month. A year ago, drivers were paying $5.34 per gallon.

Gas here in Lafayette TN is ranging from $3.41 to $3.49 a gallon.
Gas in Modesto where I came from is all over the fucking place according to gasbuddy.com, with a low of $4.69 to a high of $5.19 a gallon.

  1. Regular unleaded? Real 87 octane? Non-ethanol fuel?

    1. I haven't priced real gas here in a while. I burned a couple tanks last year and my mileage didn't improve enough to justify the extra cost. I think I got a quarter mile a gallon more was all.
https://www.pure-gas.org/ shows there's only 19 stations in the entire state of California selling real gas. In my small town of Lafayette TN, there's 4 stations selling real gas, and that's in a town of 6,000 souls give or take.

  2. The cheapest gas in my Sierra foothill town is $5.07. But I went to RCBS in Oroville yesterday and got gas at one of the Indian casinos for $4.49. 24 pumps, no waiting. From the looks of all the cars there it's where everybody in Oroville gets their gas.

  3. Those assholes were paying less then three bucks a gallon three years ago. Yet they would still vote for Biden. That's why I say assholes.

  4. $3.54 today. Up six cents from 4 days sgo. That was up sixteen cents from 9 days ago. So, in just over one week, price increase of twenty-two cents. That's the lowest. Today I saw up to $3.66.

    1. Which tells me that your state is now charging Washington drivers a Cap and Trade fee. It makes me wonder what they're spending the money on, since they don't have a High Speed Rail Authority to piss it away for them.

But I'm sure your glittering jewel of colossal depravity governor Jay Inslee will have no problem squandering the money, since he's all about solving the 'Climate Crisis'.
