Good thing they didn't run across any gators

At least six Alaska National Guardsmen were attacked by coyotes during a rotation to the Joint Readiness Training Center, or JRTC, in Louisiana in July.

Soldiers assigned to the 297th Infantry Regiment were injured when they encountered up to four coyotes while training at Fort Johnson, Louisiana, according to a base spokesperson. The soldiers likely encountered a den and were attacked by the wild dogs, suffering bite marks to their arms and head.

  1. Is rabies a thing with coyotes?

  2. I was out doing my morning 5K power walk one day last week with my earbuds in listening to music and I walked right up on 3 coyotes right in a front yard in our neighborhood in broad daylight. I got behind a brick mailbox and had my pistol partially out of it's pocket holster and we had us a little stand off until I yelled at them several times and they decided to run off. They turned back and stared at me a couple of times before they ran off for good. I was carrying my Ruger LCP II .22 LR with CCI mini mags because it's so light and easy to carry in my exercise shorts and I can really hit with it but I have since started carrying my Sig P938 Extreme with Hornaday Critical Defense rounds. The damn coyotes are getting bold.

  4. Lucky they didn't stumble across any of the boar hogs down there, or that they didn't catch Boudreaux or Thibodaux stealing target lifter batteries out on the south 40 ranges.
