It took them 17 years? He left them a finger print, er, tip!

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The suspect wanted in a 2006 home invasion, during which time police say the homeowner fought back and chopped off his fingertip with a sword, was finally arrested and charged with the crime almost 17 years later.

  2. Burning question. What linked him to the home invasion? The latents from the other 7 fingers and 2 thumbs?

  3. ^ I ask because 30+ years ago I got picked up for a DUI, the counties policy was to fingerprint everyone brought in at that time. I was a machinist, made small, very thin parts on a lathe that required rubbing the parts on emery cloth to remove burrs. They were pissed that I didn't have finger prints to keep on record. So pissed they were going to file other charges against me until my boss and the owner of the company showed up at the jail with sample parts proving why I didn't have finger prints.

    1. I worked with a guy that did network cabling in our cold room. Access to the room was via fingerprints and his fingers were print less due to the techniques he used in forming the terminating connections. He was very good, so they made some accommodation for him; they had a badge reader on one of the doors.

  4. That gives a new meaning to "anonymous tip". Too bad the original victim wasn't more successful with dispatching the fucking piece of shit career criminal.
