Masks kill

The surgical N95 mask has been held up as the gold standard when it comes to protecting against Covid.

But a study quietly re-shared by the National Institutes of Health in spring suggests the tight-fitting mask may expose users to dangerous levels of toxic chemicals.

    1. Yep, especially the old geezers. They'll get Bacterial Pneumonia from wearing them. Saves money on all their retirement benefits. -sammy

    2. This old geezer has no problem leaving the social security system. The gov. can pay me a lump sum plus the average of 10.24% compounded based on S&P growth over that time period. We could do that for all the old geezers. What! Don't like that pay out for all of us boomers? Far more then what the gov. will pay us on the social security program before we die. Don't blame us for congressional screw up's!!

    3. Don't take it personal, I'm a Boomer too. There would be plenty of money in the trust fund if the congressional critters would stop stealing and spending it. They spend it then put a u owe u (bond) as collateral in it. -sammy

    4. We won't blame you for the screwups of congressmen you elected, so long as you don't blame us for not working, so we don't have to pay for your Social Security. Deal? Cool.

  2. But they don't because except for virus particles embedded in mucous, the will pass between the fibers of a perfectly fitted N-95 mask. Perhaps the CDC could relocate their previously published Q&A from ~2003 when they discussed this precise topic.

  3. Seen the vid where the indians (dot head ones) were making the mask, those things were all over the floor, touched with their curry covered greasy hands, stepped on with their gods cow dung covered feet.....

  4. I spent many years wearing that kind of mask during many of the jobs at work, when we did things that stirred up tons of dust, like removing linings from furnaces or ladles, etc. We did it via air hammers and climbing inside of them, so that the dust was contained inside of the vessel.
While the masks could possibly have drawbacks, the refractories that are used in a lot of metal melting containers contain chromium and other heavy metals that are certain to cause cancer and other medical issues.
Just like masks during the pandemic of Covid 19, there are some times when they are appropriate and some where they are not. And they should never be mandated by the government. Myself, I won't follow any mask mandate again. I did so the last time, in order to not cause employees the trouble of having to enforce a rule that they did not make, and may not agree with. We all saw the cases of people fighting with service staff over the rule, when it was not fair to the employees, yet alone how they usually treated them. But if it is done again, I just won't enter places that don't want my money without a mask.

  5. I hate N95 masks. Absolutely hate them.

I remember years and years ago helping my dad clean up our garage after we cleared out a squirrel infestation (something made a hole, and they moved in.) He insisted I wear this N95 mask while cleaning up the feces, and I couldn't fucking breathe in that damn thing. Took me a day to feel right again after that.

  6. Wonder where these masks that are outgassing toxins were made? Odds are someplace like China where there are absolutely zero safety standards.

  7. Fuck government mandates, but I wear a respirator with a P100 filter (two actually, one either side) anytime I'm sanding or grinding. Only have to sneeze black (steel) red (rust) or yellow (Ipe) so many times before you take the hint. Lungs are basically sponges, and you only get one set. Protect them.
