San Francisco - The World's Largest Test Track

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A driverless Cruise car and a firetruck collided in San Francisco late Thursday night, sending one passenger to the hospital.

The crash happened at the intersection of Turk and Polk in the city's Tenderloin district after 10 p.m. The incident was immediately called in: "Yeah, can you dispatch a battalion chief? We've been involved in an accident versus a Cruise vehicle. There was one person in the vehicle."

As seen in multiples videos, the firetruck was apparently headed southbound but had moved into the northbound lane, something trucks do to get around other cars.

  1. Lights and sirens, or not, won't the driver of the fire truck be cited for the head-on collision since he was driving on the wrong side of the road?

    1. It should be noted that it is illegal to have a DRIVERLESS vehicle in all 50 states. ????????

  2. Obviously the passenger should be cited for the collision, simply because they’re the only person in the car TO be cited. Who else is the govt to cite if not them?

    1. How about the person who illegally allowed the vehicle to leave their possession that day. And their boss, and his boss, and the CEO. Cite them all for criminal negligence. Why do you support CLOWN WORLD? Enforce the laws we have.
