The 'Warrior Caste' and nepotism

With Army recruitment numbers in the dumps and promoting a woke agenda that is driving many traditionalist young men and women away from service, leave it to the secretary of the Army, Christine Wormuth, to close another door to recruiters — that of the traditional military family, or as she calls it, the "warrior caste."

  1. It's okay, I was 5th generation Army, and I'll be the last from my family. I will cripple my kids before I let them enlist.

    1. Same here. My father was a Korean War vet and I’m an Afghanistan vet. The marines rang my sons phone off the hook for most of his senior year and just stopped calling him and my wife a few months ago ( he’s been out of school a year now). He’s a smart kid. He listened to what I said about this abomination in office and the fact they would purposely start a war. He decided to go to automotive tech school and completed it two weeks ago.

Now I see them having to start a draft when they finally get the war they’re seeking and that’s not going to turn out to be pleasant for them if they come around here,

  2. They (this administration and democrats in general) truly despise this country and are actively trying to destroy it.

  3. I went a read the article, and she isn't talking about recruiters, she's talking about generals kids becoming generals, and using their position to get their choice of assignments.

  4. One more comment - I agree with the author, Cincinnatus, about nepotism. Saw way too much of that - the "Old Grey Line" taking care of its own.

  5. The Progressives believe the military is an experimental inclusive diverse social club. These assholes either have no idea that militaries are solely designed, built and used to Kill people and break things or they do know and they intentionally want to destroy the American military. The really sad part is it's fucking happening and it looks like the Progressives will complete their mission.

  6. Since time immemorial, people have used every leg-up to get ahead. If they had to ride "daddy's coattails" they did so with gusto (ain't that right, Hunter?), and never looked back. College graduates beget college graduates ad infinitum whether from schools of higher education or military academies (ain't that right, W and Jeb?). And guess what? there is nothing wrong with that.
We all use whatever is in our power to excel, not just in business, the military, or what have you, but as a means of securing a base, no matter how small, so that our families can use it as a springboard to excel...again, ad infinitum.

  7. What is done and what should be done are often two different things.

  8. It’s almost as if our leaders are controlled by our enemies.

That couldn’t happen though, could it?

  9. If anyone thinks this something new, personal experience with it in sixties. Second in class West Pointer, showed up in fatigues middle of winter in Germany. Seems he thought he was being assigned to e corps unit. Useless twit to be kind. Next was the son of a Major General. Who spent the day with feet on desk gazing out window. Wasn't useless, was radio frequency assignment officer. Took all of a half an hour a week. Still a twit though.

    1. Did he hate America though?

    2. That reminds me of a friend of my mother. Her daughter with husband moved to the Netherlands. Husband was a USAF Lt Col until he resigned his commission. He went to work at the Hague. Both renounced their U.S. citizenship. In the words of herself, they hate America. But he continues to draw his USAF pension and some perks. I don't know how that can be if he renounced his citizenship.

Anyway, on their last vist, her mom kicked them out because all they did was rant how awful the U.S. is. If they meant only the government, I might agree. But they didn't stop there.

He had gone through the USAF Academy (one needs a killer CV, a sponsor, and elected rep sign off - at least my friend did when he went). He enjoyed a privileged education courtesy the taxpayers, and that's the thanks we get.

  10. I have no idea if I sent my comment by accident or what; I think I hit a keyboard combination and my browser fritz. Anyway, fall semester is starting and if the opportunity arises, I'll direct whomever asks away from the military. Pens, Money, and intellect make fine weapons and warrior class comes in many forms.

Some of my ancestors go back to 1066 when the Normans invaded the Brits and military runs in the family. I may be the last though, was 0311 / USMC. Plenty of nepotism to go around and I recall at least three incidents where people got special treatment or were pulling their older family member's rank.
