Newsom mocks Republican effort to impeach Pres. Biden as 'student government'

California Gov. Gavin Newsom mocked House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's decision to launch an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, describing the Republican majority's actions as "student government" in an interview with CNN.

Still, Newsom told CNN's Dana Bash on Monday that he doesn't "love" the use of family connections for money. Biden's son Hunter Biden earned of millions of dollars in places like Ukraine and China while his father had a large role in the Obama administration's foreign policy efforts.

  1. Since mccarthy is really a democrat controlled by the person he is playing house with and pelosi, I highly doubt any effort will be put into impeachment of anybody. What bothers me more is mccarthy is still speaker. Not a spine in the gop bunch.

  3. Any attempt to impeach Biden or his administrative flunkies will fail due to the number of Senate votes required to convict. I hate to say it, but it will be portrayed as counter productive theatre and a horrible waste of time and money, and justifiably so as an impeachment is doomed to fail in this hyper partisan atmosphere. Another bunch of politicians tilting at windmills instead of pursuing activities that would be likelier to have an effect.
