Poll shows half of young Americans not excited about voting in 2024 election

As presidential candidates travel across the country campaigning for a White House bid, one group is already feeling jaded by the prospect of choosing the commander-in-chief next year.

A recent poll of more than 1,500 potential voters between 18 and 34 years old found that 50% of young Americans said they were very or extremely motivated to vote compared to 50% said they were only somewhat or less motivated or not motivated to vote in the 2024 presidential election.

  1. Maybe it's because many young depressed Repblican- leaning kids and gleeful young Democrat-leaning kids see the reality that the elections are rigged.

  3. Given a choice between Biden and Trump (probably), I'm not terribly excited about the election either. I'll vote, but only under protest.

  4. What does it matter that they're not excited?
Their votes, for democrats of course, have already been counted.
(I remember the 100% votes that Saddam Hussein used to get).

  9. People mistakenly believe there is some civic duty to vote. But if you are ignorant maybe there's a civic duty to abstain?
