So San Francisco has gone from a regular police force to calls for defunding the police to considering using people with even less training to help clean up the mess.

ReplyDeleteMy belief is that they really do want cops. But first they want to get rid of cops they don't like. And by the time they're done they'll have a 'Woke Force' that hates your guts. And don't forget - some forces have already been semi 'Federalized'.

It aint a crime until the DA prosecutes it and without that there is little point in bringing in bad guys since they don't get locked up, don't get charged and never appear in court. I'm waiting for the businesses to go to locked entry and controlled entry.

In the early Gold Rush days, Vigilance Committees were established by the fed up citizens. They were very effective. Unfortunate the law enforcement professionals got more involved and the effectiveness of service declined.

"We can't control the criminal element, so we'll bring in untrained vigilantes. That'll solve everything!" I guess they've never heard of the abuses of the various Vigilance Committees in the past. Or maybe they do and are waiting to capitalize on the ensuing chaos.
