When your day goes from bad to worse

CHICAGO — What’s worse than being in a car crash? How about having your car stolen by the tow truck that shows up to help you? That’s been happening lately in the Loop and South Loop, according to Chicago police.

Since August 20, at least four cars have been stolen by tow trucks that showed up at traffic crash sites in the downtown area, mostly on or near Lake Shore Drive.

    2. We get at least 1 sometimes 2 a month in the boat yard. Lots of holes in the bottom of boats that need attention.

  3. Use to be where there's a will there's a way. Now in major Democrat run cities it's: Where there's a will the law won't stand in your way.

    1. I knew a guy that clipped a beater Toyota with his F-250 about 10 years ago on the road leading from our parking lot at work. It finished out totaling the japcar, but the only visible damage to his truck was a dented bumper. What he didn't see but caused the truck to have to be towed was a broken steering shaft, something Ford trucks were notorious for back then.

    2. well, in the old days the number plates where held on by 2 Phillips screws,,,,
get the plate off a wreck, steal a nice new one and swap out the number plate.
sometime in the 1970's they stopped doing that, and put the number plate in a harder spot to get/swap. God damn I getting old ! dave in pa.

    3. A good tap in the right spot triggers the fuel shut off. A seven mph impact on the bumper is supposed to trip it.
During an ice storm several years ago I was traveling to Wichita. Came on several cars in the ditch that wouldn't start. Told the drivers to pop the trunk, found the reset, pulled them out and sent them on their way. Helped one guy twice.
All they impacted was the snow plow pile along the road.
I'd bet the other driver in some of those was targeting cars.
