1950s American City Life (Colorized)

VIDEO HERE (14:17 minutes)

The one thing that really struck me about the video was the lack of crowds.

  1. I grew up in Northern California back in 1955 and we never even locked our doors. I wasn't till we moved to Southern California in 1971 that we started locking doors.

  5. It is diversity that has changed America for the better.

  6. The relative lack of crowds may be due to the fact that theb1950 US population was about half the population of 2020.

    1. Yep. He's correct. It was actually less than half of the current population in 1950.

Do your own research. I'm not going to do it for you. You'll find out he's right.

  7. Cool video, but I think I saw a bunch of ‘60s cars in various shots. Still, the early ‘60s were much the same, domestically. Yep, I was there, then.

  11. It looks like diversity was not our strength then. Who would have thunk it?

  12. America was safer, cleaner, and just a better place to live when it was ran by white people. just a fact.

  13. Cool video. About a minute in though, they showed decidedly non 1950's video. Was that a Datsun 240Z?

  14. At the 2:50 mark it shows wrecked cars. I'm fairly certain the far left had air bags deployed - looks that way for sure but no way - not invented yet...

    Interesting
