Californians moving out of state at greater levels than ever before, study shows

SAN FRANCISCO -- From the Gold Rush to the tech boom, the Golden State has long been a mecca for immigrants, dreamers and fortune seekers, but some warn that trend may well be at an end.

*****

The article says that two thirds of the people moving claim politics wasn't a key factor in their decisions to move.
It had everything to do with why I left, everything from the liberalism to the State encouraging illegal immigration to the State wanting to control every aspect of my life. The insane cost of living, also driven by politics, was a very close second.

    1. My wife is from Maryville. We lived there from '04 to '11. It was one of the two best places I've ever lived, after Atlanta went to hell. I read recently that they've gone woke. I guess it was rated too highly in too many places as a great place to retire. We moved back to Georgia to be close to our son and live near Athens, home of UGA, Democrats and diversity. I miss the Maryville that was every day.

    2. Moved to Tennessee 5 years ago one of the best decisions i ever made, High recommend it for conservatives ( liberal stay out). if you move to Tennessee northeast Tennessee is best. Louden county Tennessee is often rated one of the best places to retire in the Country that is further south (near Knoxville). Johnson city area is also highly recommended. Wherever you choose, stay the hell away from Memphis and do not get too close to Nashville.

  2. There are only two reasons you would leave, money or politics....

    1. And yet money reasons are pretty closely tied to politics. Either the taxes are killing you or your employer or the regulations are killing your employer.

    2. And those two are so intimately intertwined that each drive each other. Politicians need money, politics drives the money into their pockets.
So your rights get fucked because your wallet needs fucking.

  3. If they were able to correlate their political choices with the results, they wouldn't have to move in the first place. They are simply unable to see the connection. The shithole they've turned California into is just 'bad luck'. This isn't good news for the destination states.

  4. The only reason they say it's not politics is because they are actually stupid enough to think that political policies, abuse of political power, etc have nothing to do with why the state has become a giant piece of shit.

    1. Austin was a liberal cesspool long before Californians started moving there.

Yeah right. Kalifornians ADMITTING that they caused this themselves by voting for this cr.p? That's why they'll vote the same in the state they move to.
Coloradan, sick and tired of those ijiotas coming here.

  7. They need to put a fence around that shithole and keep all democrats there so they don't spread their disease. Only conservatives should be allowed to leave. These people have not learned one god damned thing from their mistakes.

  8. The governors of texas egos were so bent on getting CA businesses to move to TX that they did not realize they were cutting their political throat. The CA transfers still vote democrat after leaving their failing state.

  9. Estimated two years ROI for total moving expenses by leaving California. Broke even after 9 months.

  12. Breaking California news-
Yesterday a transient recently released from state prison stabbed three people, killing one. This happened in a quiet neighborhood in Ione, between Sacamento and Jackson. The alleged attacker was on parole after serving time for murder.

This is a fine example of Gavin Newsom's social justice in action.

The Governor was unavailable for comment as he was returning from China, where he test drove a $160,000 luxury electric vehicle which was built by the same company that was awarded a one billion dollar contract by Newsom to make N95 masks for California in 2021.

Not a smidgen of corruption here.
