#3 My Mercedes has a very solid cross member under the engine that is well below the oil pan. Also the 4Matic badge on the trunk means this car's 'oil pan' is a thick aluminum casting that supports the front differential not a thin piece of stamped steel . Al_in_Ottawa
Damn if my Monday stated like these I would go back to bed until Tuesday.... Had a buddy's engine in his 72 mustang go up in flames once, pulled into a convenience store parking lot and we see smoke, shit, open his hood and it flared up big time... Luckily for him the store had a fire extinguisher near the door.. Leaking fuel line to the carb was the problem.. JD
I don't think I'll ever understand the impulse some people apparently have to reach for a camera instead of dealing with the disaster before it gets any worse.
Are they stupid? Inexperienced? Do they just feel helpless in the face of something going wrong? Do they not understand that fire spreads? That jam soaks in? etc? What the hell are they thinking? (Of course, if you have to ask "what are they thinking?" the answer is "they aren't.")
I agree with John. People are addicted to their phones. They not only take photos and videos of disasters, but they snap photos of restaurant food, their pets doing stupid things and what not. I want to choke those same idiots when you see a police officer struggling with a non-compliant scumbag and there are fifteen equally idiotic fools with their cell phones in their hands looking like idiots and not lending a hand.
I don’t drink alcohol anymore but I hated it when a good $5 bottle of wine was ruined by cheap Chinese crap.

#2 That pipe laying project will be in a weather delay.
ReplyDeleteAt least 7 pipe layers pulled into the trench. That has to be some kind of a record.
DeleteI think the side boom dozers were left on the side of the trench, and a heavy rain storm softened the bank and it collapsed.
DeleteIt was already a sloppy mess, that's why the pipe layers were sitting on logs like a corduroy road
