  1. yeah, my old dog Slim used to do dumb shit like that. and when it snowed, he was worse.
used to have to drag his half frozen ass in the house to warm up. the problem was after he warmed up. he wanted to go back outside to play again.
there nothing that brings a smile to my face than seeing a dog do the stupid happy dance/run whatever else you may say, they do enjoy life more than most people do.

    1. Nice to hear a good story once in a while. Thanks to you Dave, and thanks to Slim, wherever he is.

    2. almost 2 years now that Slim is gone. he has left a huge hole in a lot of people.
there is a 6 year old little girl that looks for him still. my neighbor's grand daughter
she met Slim about 4 years ago when she came up here. Slim ran right to her.
that girl did things to him that me or the vet be scared to do. all he ever did was lick her face harder until she stop digging in his ear or whatever she was doing at the time. he was 110 pounds of muscle and bone at the time. she was maybe 20 pounds or so ? hell, even the UPS guy loved that damn dog. he went for a "ride" one time. and had to come back and drop him off. big goofy roadie ridgeback.
but he also killed a few racoons around here too. left the feral cats alone.
and had to "fight" the snow blower every time I had to use it. have a new dog here now. just not the same as Slim was though. he got his name because he was so damn thin when I got him from the pound. he slipped thru the old iron fence back in philly. but he did put weight on fast after we got him. dave in pa.

  2. Kinda reminds me of the GS puppy I had in Alabama, she was about 5 months old the first time she saw snow...... Hated to stop her fun, it was a wet icy snow, but I had to bathe her before letting her loose in the house..

  3. That was EXACTLY our dog when he was a puppy....now 9 yrs old and he's terrified of a leaf pile. Eats every single he can find, but will avoid a pile at all costs. Go figure.
