This move has been controversial and divisive, with a total of 14 states, alongside the District of Columbia, imposing their own versions of these unconstitutional mag restrictions. While these laws are presented under the guise of “public safety,” many proponents of gun rights view them as mere cosmetic interventions that do little to prevent the real issues at hand. Furthermore, the USCCA, a renowned authority in the firearms community, suggests that these laws might not be the effective remedy to mass shootings that they are made out to be.

has anyone even considered enforcing the hundreds of laws we already have?
ReplyDeleteThe consensus is OVER 25000 individual firearms laws, statutes, codes and ordinances on the books currently. And you would be correct, enforce the one that exist. Repeal the ones that dont work! Tom762
DeleteSince most mass shootings occur in gun free zones, there's plenty of time to reload with smaller mags. I doubt mag restrictions would have any real impact.
ReplyDeleteYes but anti-gunners love to point out the 1 time an asshole mass shooter was tackled while reloading as if that were a valid “defensive strategy “. But yet ignore the thousands of times armed civilians ventilate perpetrators as “that never happens, cause this one time at band camp.”
DeleteSomeone should point out to the dimwits who write and pass these laws that smaller magazines mean smaller handguns, and smaller handguns are more concealable. Think about that. Do you really want thugs with easier to conceal weapons running around on your streets?
ReplyDeleteThey don't make smaller handguns for magazines that have limited capacity, they just pin the regular magazine or put in a spacer below the follower so it won't accept more than 10 rounds.
DeleteTrue. My full size 1911 magazines hold only 8 rounds.
