Open air drug market, okay - street vendors, not okay

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco is taking an aggressive stand against street vending. Supervisor Hillary Ronen announced in a newsletter that street vending along Mission Street in the Mission District and around BART stations will soon no longer be allowed.

Yeah, I know the shit being sold there was almost certainly stolen from stores in the area, but I'm pretty sure this is just a feel-good thing they'll pursue for a couple weeks until something else they've ignored suddenly becomes a crisis, then they'll move on to that.

  1. Target needs to cut out the middle man and just sell their stuff with street venders. No target signage.

  3. What happened to supporting small businesses? You would think that the leftist morons would be all in favor of the makeshift Single-Mom-and-No-Pop shops in the neighborhood.

  4. The city just asks for permits. Shouldn't they ask for receipt paperwork for the goods they are selling? Shouldn't they bring in the Franchise Board (state IRS) to see they have paid their taxes. City doesn't really want to end the problem.
