SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - A federal appeals court on Friday upheld Illinois' prohibition on high-power semiautomatic weapons, refusing to put a hold on the law adopted in response to the mass killing of seven people at a 2022 parade in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park.
Another case headed to Saint Thomas of DC.
ReplyDeleteThe stupid law was bound to bounce around all the Illinois courts, Appeals courts, etc. and go all the way to the Supreme Court from the get go. I just hope it won't take forever.

Good luck with that. SCOTUS just now accepted the Bump Stock case to be heard NEXT year, and it's been how long already?
DeleteYep. Five years. From the same president that thinks Red Flag Laws are constitutional and are the way to go.
DeleteFor a guy that did a lot right his dumb moves were real doozies.
Who could ever forget Operation Warp Speed?
Some of the shit he did makes me wonder if he's ever even read the Bill of Rights.
DeleteHe’s a NY Dem (for decades) that ran for Prez as a Repub just to fuck with people.
DeleteHis hubris is his trademark.
I had a roommate who was from NY.
Loudmouth, thought NY made him special and didn’t give a fuck about anyone. I’m used to NY bigmouths.
Trump said he didn’t like silencers and all we got from him was a bump stock ban. He could have told the ATFeces to stand down but didn’t.
Better than a drooling moron? Yes, of course…but that’s a pretty low bar.
The AR round is by no means a "high-power" caliber. This from the same people who still maintain that "AR" means "assault rifle".
ReplyDeletestay tuned, i think it might get interesting. il.chuck
