Let the Beverly Hillbilly jokes begin

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - According to Kentucky State Police, human remains were found in the Bugtussle area of Monroe County Wednesday.

The Bugtussle community is just inside Kentucky about 8-10 miles northeast of my place. No businesses, just a few farms. I'm not sure if it has a Fountain Run or Gamaliel mailing address.

  2. Wirecutter: I lived in Bowling Green a few years before it got crazy. Now in middle Tennessee where it's gone berserk with urban development and resulting traffic. Tim in Speing Hill

  3. A couple of years ago, we heard a knock on the door and went out to find two deputies from Allen County (KY) on our driveway. They were looking for a murder suspect who had been reported to have fled to a residence on our road. He relayed a description of the purported hideaway and it was an exact match to our property. We talked to the deputies for a bit and they drove off, satisfied that we were not likely to be harboring a wanted fugitive. The older of the two deputies did tell me we had a nice place.

    1. Sheriff Departments around here don't pay much attention to State lines, do they? I've heard about Macon County deputies pursuing a suspect into Kentucky several times.

  4. 1 of the episodes w/ Buggtussle was on last night. The banker was going to buy the bank in case Jed moved his money there. I had a few laughs.

  5. So you're not too far from Ft Campbell. Stomped around those grounds while I was stationed there. Passed through Bugtussle a time or two.

  6. A native Kentuckian here. I live in the central part of the Commonwealth where the only excitement is what is found floating in the Kentucky River.

  7. In my AO we have all sorts of names for different communites like most of the rural southern hill country. Yes, we have a Bugtussle, Hogjaw, Dogtown, Slick Lizard, Boar Tush, Chigger Ridge, and the list goes on forever. LOL
