Well, we are talking Oakland here

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- An Oakland business is seeing an enormous uptick in business from customers requesting bulletproof glass. They say it's due in part to crime in the city.

At East Bay Glass' warehouse in Oakland, the varieties of glass seem endless. But one item that's not currently in stock due to it's high cost - is bullet-resistant, ballistic glass.

  1. I would be willing to bet that a higher percentage of bullets enter a home through the walls than through windows.

    1. But all you need to do is get behind a table tipped on its side. Movies show that cover and concealment are absolutely the same thing.

  2. I am a world traveling expert of the "glass" industry I can be found by simply doing any search engine = thomas the glass expert". When dealing with ANY type of bullet rated glass (there are 7 levels recognized by ASTM) then obviously the framing has to be considered. There is NO residential window that can accommodate BRG an entirely new frame must be ordered to handle the thickness and weight of the new BRG.
