What we ate 60 years ago / Rare commercials from the 50s and 60s

VIDEO HERE   (17:54 minutes)

*****

I remember some of these foods but hardly any of the commercials, but I was lucky in that respect - I spent a large amount of my childhood in Germany watching AFN and they didn't have commercials.

  1. Anyone remember “Shake-a-pudding”? Instant pudding, mix milk and shake five minutes. 1968 to 1970 I think.

  3. I'm ashamed to admit that my favorite breakfast when I was a kid was Cap'n Crunch and chocolate milk.
But It's cool. After I grew up and pulled my head out of my pre-pubescent ass my favorite breakfast became Grape Nuts, honey, fruit juice and fresh fruit in season. Talk about all natural.

  6. Back then a truly better America. Don't be afraid to speak up when you are confronted by today's women's. People need to stand up and confront this madness. Yes, you will get comments from a holes, but you will also notice that some will smile in approval and may even comment further. F communism. Hybo

  11. Cereal was how the food producers got us into eating huge amounts of grains. That is why the US population is so fat now. About the only regular intake of grains back then might have been the toast you got served with your bacon and eggs. And my memory of that was the toast was seldom finished. Most people left some of it on the plate. Cereal was also the driver for all the milk that was consumed. Prior to that, it mostly got turned into butter and cheese.
