As if parking wasn't tight enough in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- You may not know this, but parking next to a crosswalk is now illegal. The bill signed into law earlier this month is already proving to be controversial because it won't just have an impact on where you park in the Bay Area.
You know when they take your parking spots only criminal illegal vagrants will have parking spots; since the sidewalks are full of human feces and used syringes they need more areas for their open air sites for biowaste.
In Georgia you aren't supposed to park within 20ft of an intersection, unless its marked as a parking space.
Anyway, isn't jaywalking permitted in CA? If so, all city streets are crosswalks and onstreet parking is no longer permitted in the state... I just looked it up and "On January 1, 2023, jaywalking became legal in California with the Freedom to Walk Act,"
Visited dau and sil in SF about 5 years ago; every curb/gutter area was carpeted with shattered safety glass from all the smash n grabs. And a crime scene team was working up a murder site in a bus shelter. It really is that bad.
But it's fine if you, as a respected and sanctified illegal, or addled drug user, or mentally ill pervert want to poop, pee, or sleep in the crosswalk. To build a fire and sacrifice an animal (preferably someone's loved pet), or rape (preferably a blonde white woman, or a small boy), you'll need a permit, datum sine comment of course. I STG I despise what America has become.
I remember visiting SF in 1996. I saw parking lots charging up to $20 an hour back then, and these lots were all full. Of course, it wasn't a shithole back in those days.
Makes sense. After all, if the crossing is obstructed how are the homeless gonna cross the road to shit on the opposite sidewalk?

ReplyDeleteThe bigger question is, why on earth would you want to park your vehicle ANYWHERE in SF?
ReplyDeleteDon't know if it's a law here in louisiana, but i just dont park within 20 feet of corners, hydrants or crosswalks. Just kind of makes sense really!

Ha Ha Ha Ha.
Not even marked crosswalks, just anywhere the meter maid chooses. People with cars must have money. They can be milked for some of it.
ReplyDeleteThis is good. San Frans are Dems and they deserve the abuse.

ReplyDelete"It'll only be one or two spaces per block. " per the traffic engineer.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what engineering school he went to, but each block has 4 sides, so I think that's more like 8 spaces per block.
But I'm just an uneducated hillbilly.

Don't forget that San Francisco also has crosswalks in the middle of the block in some areas.
