“These devices are not gun accessories. They are illegal and considered machine guns under federal law,” says ATF LA Field Division Special Agent in Charge Christopher Bombardiere.
He adds that the ATF has recovered more than 31,000 of the devices in the last five years and compared the problem to the rise of ghost guns — untraceable firearms that are assembled using spare or 3D-printed parts and which have no serial number.

Oh yeah, unnumbered firearms..... had to throw that out there, huh? Only difference is, homemade firearms are completely legal under federal law.
Fuck the ATF.
You can't stop the signal. Home machine shop tools made full auto possible regardless of laws. 3D printing is making it universal.
ReplyDeleteBetween my desktop CNC mill, my large format 3D printer, EDM vat, and TIG welder, I've quit purchasing factory built firearms. Giggle switches are really elementary at this point, and not always useful. Glocks, 1911s, P320s, ARs of any flavor, AKM, mags, barrels, springs, etc. My limiting factor right now is reloading components. I may not be able to crank them out like a manufacturer, but I will never be unarmed ever again.

Which is why BATFE has successfully prosecuted a guy with raw materials, simple machine tools and some knowledge as 'intent to manufacture w/o a license.'
DeleteFully automatic weapons are legal according to the Constitution. Fuck Congress AND the ATF.
ReplyDeleteThese guys are funny. While most manufacturers put serial numbers on their firearms, it was not required until the gun control act of 1968. I have several old shotguns that don't have serial numbers. I remember the TV commercials that year telling everyone to register their sawed-off shotguns SBR's and machine guns.
ReplyDeleteFuck the Feds, it's none of their business. 2A cancels all gun laws.
ReplyDeleteYeah, ya know, you try to READ the actual text and break down its meaning, and people get all cattywupus, like they forgot English.

The rest is superfluous, really.
Sounds like Infringement to me...
ReplyDeleteHighlander
31,000.....Sounds like common use to me!
ReplyDeleteI just saw a post on Craigslist for an old shotgun. It was old enough that it had no serial number on it.
ReplyDeleteThe guy looking to trade it for anything of similar value.
I am not sure of the value, and don't need a shotgun as I already have a good one.
One? Who only has one?
DeleteI have a 22LR single shot rifle that has no serial number. It was my wife's grandfather's rifle. It is a very accurate 22. It has to be at least 90 years old.
ReplyDeleteI am retired military 20 years ago. I got to shoot the M-16 in full auto then in 3 round burst mode. Both are a waist of time. In semi-auto I can pick off targets much better than in the rock-and-roll settings.
“ATF has recovered more than 31,000 of the devices..”
ReplyDeleteAnd how many are in ATF Homes?? Ya know, disappearing/“LOST” evidence
31,000. I notice they didn't say how many of those came from law abiding/NOT criminals.
ReplyDeleteAnd how few of those 31,000 Federal crimes have been prosecuted? D*MN few.
DeleteI have read that the Glock switches sell for less than $50 in Chicago, and are readily available.
John in Indy
"law abiding/NOT criminals"
DeleteThe allies of the trans-nationals that rule The United State colony?
The, melting in the same pot as the Afghans "rescued" from their families and neighbors, for their loyalty to the baby raping government recognized as owning them, by The United Nations?
I *do* actually prefer them in the wild. The lights gotta go out, sometime.
I still don't understand this as a problem. 'Resistance' doesn't always mean you resist physically or violently. Find a 3D printer, make a few million, sprinkle those 'picture hangers' in the parkinglot at gun shows so thick the point becomes moot. Do this nationally, and we can all tell the fedfags to pound sand.
ReplyDeleteIs it "BATFE Re-writing the Laws" Season again?
ReplyDeleteEver since the Bruen decision came down, it seems like the blue states have turned it up to "Eleven" playing the "That's not infringement; THIS is infringement" legislative games.
F Troop crawled out from under the rock again.
ReplyDeleteThe last two sentences tell it all and take special note of the last one.
ReplyDelete"If you know of anyone who may be purchasing, making or stockpiling these devices, you are urged to contact your local ATF office. They can also be safely turned over at a local office."
