Yeah, I live in Hutchinson. It was a big deal at the time. Took quite a while for the alleged authorities to figure out the problem and it also took quite a while for the flare wells to burn off all the gas, too. There were sniffer trucks driving all over town looking for leaks for months. And like everything else that goes wrong, I was out of town at the time. Gunfight down the street from my house? I was gone. Tornado? I was gone. Water pipe breaks and floods the basement? I was gone. Wife takes out the drive-thru at Wendy's with my pick-up? I was gone. Neighbor has a psychotic event requiring police intervention? I was gone. Range fire starts at my mailbox and burns 6,000 acres, and my wife has to evacuate for two days? I was gone. Whole town goes ka-boom? I was gone. Go figure.
