But SHOT isn’t just about new technology, but also new lines from established companies.
Lever-action firearms, for example, have been with us for coming up on two centuries now. So a company that’s decided to get into the lever action game would show it off at SHOT.
And the folks at Everytown’s The Smoking Gun has decided to complain about all the goodies there in a piece headlined, “DEADLY INNOVATIONS FROM THE 2024 SHOT SHOW”
Yes, the all caps was their idea.
Well, they're not wrong. They're just 98 years late.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I was going to say. And to the point, I have an 1894 Half Magazine/Half Octagon Winchester made in 1912 that's ready to go hunting right now. What's really cool is that it says .30 WCF on it!
DeleteThese fools would have really blown a gasket if they'd been around in the year that the Winchester Model 1873 rifle, the Colt .45 cartridge and the Colt Single Action Army revolver were introduced. They'd surely have fainted dead away.
ReplyDeleteHow's that for a warm and fuzzy thought?
Wait until they figure out the Brown Bess assault rifle..
ReplyDeleteThe one with the pointy thing and can be used as a club.
I wonder what their reaction would be to the "shoulder thing that goes up..."
ReplyDeleteThey would probably react the same as when they learned of the existence of the dreaded 'Thirty Magazine Clip'.
DeleteNew since 1873!
ReplyDeleteMy Yeet Cannon has Thirty Magazine Clip.
ReplyDeleteAnd a chainsaw bayonet.
THEY'RE ALL A BUNCH OF IDIOTS. Yes, the all caps is my idea.
ReplyDeleteThey're really gonna freak out when they learn about smokeless powder.
ReplyDeleteBut now they're making them in black.
ReplyDeleteThat's extra assaulty.
Ever see the lever action modified by the ATF to fire full auto, in an attempt to have them banned?
ReplyDeleteFTG!
Sorta like this?
