Well, it'll make the dope fiends easier to spot

A sedative drug used for animals is now showing up on the streets of Nashville, causing public health concerns.

The mitigations of Xylazine is starting to show up as the cause of death in autopsies as well as in drug busts, Metro Police's top drug officer says. The drug is meant to be used as a sedative for animals, such as cattle, and not approved for human consumption.

  1. You take this shit and you roll over to have your tummy rubbed, bark and hump legs which might suit some people.

  2. I don't understand the problem. If people take stuff that they should not be taking that is not our problem. Let them go. No promising them "if you fail to kill yourself with random street drugs we'll try to revive you, in return of a vote of course".

  3. One thing most folks don't know about Xylazine is that Narcan does NOT work against it in cases of overdose. OD on Xylazine and you are 'D. E. D.' - dead.

  4. Actually, DCE, you CAN reverse Xylazine with Yohimbine, but you have to pretty much have it ready to go and it's hard to find a vein when your heart rate drops to 3 beats/minute. I've used Xylazine on many (veterinary) patients and it is a good sedative. Not so much for humans, though.

  5. Back in the 1970's, my father's Veterinarian clinic was broken into many times. They would steal T-61, an euthanasia drug. Seems getting high on this was common back in the day. T-61 replaced another euthanasia drug that had been banned because it was "too strong"... Yep, the FDA at work... and the idiots that used it...
