That reminds me of the episode of Leave it to Beaver when Eddie Haskill put Wally up to chaining the back axle of Lumpy's car with Ward's chain and left too much slack in it. Lumpy's car was left in the middle of the street with one axle, with Lumpy crying "DADDY!".
Looks like it would have been easier to use bolt cutters and just cut the chain
