The U.S. Military Academy no longer will use the motto "Duty, Honor, Country" as its mission statement, according to West Point's superintendent.
The phrase, which was highlighted in a famous speech by Gen. Douglas MacArthur in 1962, will be replaced by a line that includes the words, "Army Values."
The Army's fucked and the country's fucked despite what the Republicans and their AM radio conservative preaching millionaire pals tell you. Praying and voting are as useless as spitballs against a tank. Our society's rapidly changing and Americans being the emotionally reacting instant gratification humans that they are will accept the cultural rot as long as they have their brain numbing bread & circuses to placate them.
You are not wrong. As an indicator of the rot, take a look at National Guard and Soldiers now. You see them on "shaving profiles" with nasty, scraggly beards. You see actual neck tats. I have seen one soldier with a tat behind his ear. You will see un bloused boots, crappy non reg haircuts and worse. The outer disorder and dishevelment indicates the inner turmoil, lack of self-discipline and worse. It is the land of misfit toys, made real. They have actual trannies, furries, MLP-ers and "dog" fetishists now. It can be WILD, and it really should not be. They are unserious about the work they should be doing, and serious about their degeneracy.
This way any values, even no value can be ARMY values. Fitting for folks that call their new hires maggots and other wonderful endearing terms... The race to the bottom continues at a neck breaking pace. Some how they are puzzled about their plummeting rate of people signing in..
The service academies are living off past glories at this point, and are no different or better than run-of-the-mill civilian colleges and universities. It is time to pull the plug and zero out their funding on them if they have devolved to this low ebb.
It is not "if", they have. For some time now. Not just "West Point." In the name of competence and an equal system, the academies should be razed to the ground or tuned into section 8 housing (same net effect). Run it ALL as merit based ROTC if they want to go back to a citizen based force.
It's not "our" military anymore. We'll see that when Posse Comitatus is repealed ... perhaps this summer? Or after the Electoral College suggests DJT was elected beyond the capability of "the cheat" and FJB and crew become lame ducks? DJT will NOT be allowed to take office.
Thanks for this comment. I was wondering about the use of the word Insurrection so widely in response to Jan 6. It turns out that, under a declared insurrection, the Posse Comitatus provisions can be suspended under federal law. This explains the use of the National Guard during the electoral count and response. Wow.
This is fine with me. For quite some time I’ve been certain that one day my own country, who I’ve proudly worn the uniform of, would be at war with me. And it troubled me greatly that I might be forced to fight people just like myself. Men and women who cared about things like “duty” and “honor” and “country”.
But now I see that the military of my country’s (short…..very short) future will not be composed of people like me. And that gives me both relief, and hope.
When the invading hordes are wearing the uniform of the fUSA, brandishing taxpayer funded weaponry and given complete immunity for all action in order to "keep the peace," we traditional suckers will know true hell. And it will be 100% legal. Morally and ethically wrong, but legally sanctioned.
