Family Dollar faced one misdemeanor count of causing FDA-regulated products to become adulterated while being held under insanitary conditions at the facility, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release. The company entered into a plea deal that includes a sentence of a fine and forfeiture amount totaling $41.675 million, the largest-ever monetary criminal penalty in a food safety case, the department said.
They should have kept this stuff stored with some covid booster shots. That makes everything safe for consumption.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you want to bet Wal Mart and Target made some big political donations to the clowns in DOJ that persecuted this. Run the little guys out of business and you can charge whatever you want. All part of the controlled destruction of the west. Eod1sg Ret
ReplyDeleteFood warehouses are actually a tough environment. A friend of mine ran one for a large chocolate candy company and he said they kept the walls painted white so you could see the rat and mice droppings running down the wall.
ReplyDeleteI thought Family Dollar stocked Roach Motel and rodent repellent products
ReplyDeleteJust wait till they check the warehouses in NYC.
ReplyDeleteWho got to keep the $41M? The government? Why? What losses did they incur? What about the people who were actually damaged? That was just another $41M tax that ultimately will be paid for by consumers. What a scam!

They demolished the warehouse and are going to build a replacement to start the process all over again.
I don't think I've heard the term "Insanitary" before. It would be a great descriptor of several past girlfriends though.
