#5 Sailboat cutting it close to a motorboat that was not under way. With the large red buoys I'd say that the motorboat was late in dropping the course marker for a sailing race.
I could well be wrong about that race, but we used to have leave the marker on the port side on that turn. In other words, they should have shot by the marker And committee boat on the port side and then turn the direction they went.
#8 - Didn't you do some antenna climbing in the military? Ever seen this video of a guy changing a light bulb on top of the 1999 foot tall KDLt TV tower in South Dakota? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40F8mALRukA&t=187s
I watched one where a young buck slid halfway down the pole on way down. When it came time to collect his prize his face looked like hamburger, but he was all smiles because he'd won. Typical logger.
I remember watching lumberjack competitions on "Wide World Of Sports" when I was a kid in the '70s and seeing some of them do like Elmo said. You'd think the drop and the way they landed would have killed them.
Friend of mine wanted to know what she should do with her aging horse. I told her to donate it to the American Large Pet Organization in Allentown PA. They have a huge water tower visible from the PA turnpike, with the initials of the organization. She didn't appreciate it.
There are a lot of horse owners around me here. Every male I know that has one got it to please some female. I have nothing against horses even though one damn near killed me but I have this theory that if women suddenly stopped liking horses that there would be convoys of horse trailers headed to the rendering plants.

ReplyDeleteIt looked like the race course attendant in the motorboat knew the sailor would make the turn and lifted the buoy with a smile...
DeleteSome race committees never stop adjusting the windward mark.

ReplyDeleteSeabiscuit looks like he's going to get a custom tour of the Purina pet food plant soon.
ReplyDelete#5 is called a crash tack.
ReplyDelete#8 I grew up in a logging town that had a yearly 'timber festival'. Those loggers would climb those spars like monkeys.

#6 Redbull does some dramatic stuff. Here's a pic of that car doing a donut on a 75 foot helipad that's almost 700 feet in the air:
