Godspeed, Sir

Lou Conter, the last living survivor on board the USS Arizona during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, has died. He was 102.

  3. " They were lost forever right then and there." I think of that a lot. Those that didn't make it missed out on so much. It saddens me deeply.

    I was honored to meet Quartermaster Conter at Pearl Harbor back when he was still coming for the anniversary of the Japanese attack. He would end any conversation with "Remember Pearl Harbor and God Bless American".
