never saw a time when it wasn't better with a good dog. most dogs are a blessing. and you right. they do look happy to see each other. always seem to me that the bigger the dog was, the more they protected the ones that needed it.
Dogs aren't any better than humans. Mistreat a dog or a human long enough and they turn into a terror, or exhibit the same signs. People and animals that are starving will act very similar. What is surprising is when one cannot see that. Try speaking nice and give them true compliments every time you see them and give them gifts without expecting anything in return. And just like a dog it takes longer to trust the deeper they are damaged.
Yeah, my father in law is in the early stages where he repeats himself and is forgetful. How have you been, Steve? It's been a while since I've heard from you.
Anyone know what I'm speaking of? I was told there is some kind of wire that can be placed in a certain area in the brain. The other end of the wire may have a battery pack of some sort just under the skin. Impulses of electricity stimulate that area of the brain. I've heard it works.
As far as dogs, give me a dog over a human any day. That picture is precious. Hell, I like cows and chickens more than I do most humans.
Neurotechnology was rough in the 90s but it's an emerging field now that requires many years of merciless education to enter regarding research. Psychedelics can also be studied for medicinal use because the war on drugs is breaking down. I think there is some wild progress to be made in combining both into a multi-discipline field and the next twenty years will see these advancements, not the 22nd century.
Now I hear they're researching a new procedure that uses infrared light forcing brain cells to emit more energy. They sedate the patient so they'll sit still in a chair and wear a type of helmet.
Dogs are awesome. They have the patience to deal with most every situation there is. They BOTH appear to be happy.

Dementia is a horror. Lived through it as an auxilliary to the primary care giver. My heart goes out to anyone dealing with this.
