Sorry for your loss

A woman is behind bars in Texas for allegedly stealing from a grieving mother who left her purse in her car as she tended to her daughter’s grave site.

Latoya White, 35, is accused of theft, credit card abuse, and breaking into a vehicle. According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the office of the Harris County Constable Precinct 6, Gabriella Marshall-Mackin was “decorating her deceased daughter’s headstone” at the Forest Park Funeral Home in Houston on April 3 when White stole her purse from her car.

This shit has been going on in California for years. About 10 years ago it got so bad at Lakewood cemetery where damned near my entire family is buried, they had to hire a private security service to patrol the grounds.

    Remember when there was a rash of robberies - people would read the obits, figure out funeral dates, look up the addresses of the family, and then go rob the homes of the families while they were at the funeral? Got so bad in some areas that people would ask friends to house-sit for them while they went to a funeral just to stop that bullshit.

    And of course, guess the race applies here too.
