State's wildfire insurance crisis is so bad, even CAL FIRE stations are struggling to get coverage

California's wildfire insurance crisis is getting so bad, the state can't even get coverage for fire stations.

It came up last week as part of a CAL FIRE budget discussion.

CAL FIRE told state lawmakers it couldn't get coverage for two fire stations because no insurers would take them, citing wildfire risk.

  1. Let Nancy and Gavin cover it. Or let them go without the Fire service. Sorry Nancy we can't protect your Vinyards.

  2. I'd think CA would self-insure.

Two days ago I talked to a friend who is 7th generation rancher in CA. She said many problems with this but not in every fire/flood prone area. Yet some areas considered safe are not able to insure.

As if actual risk is not the only cause of denial of coverage.

(All of CA is prone to earthquakes, that's a given insurance wise.)

  4. CalFire started this mess several years ago when they came out with their Fire Hazard Severity Zone Map that the insurance companies used to cancel insurance policies of homeowners. Now, they're getting hoisted on their own petard. This is perfect.

  5. No problem. Governot Nuisance will soon announce a "house burned down forgiveness program".

  6. By California lawmaker logic, the next thing that needs to be done is to call insurance companies racist. That will certainly fix the problem.

  7. With a little luck a 9.9 on the Richter scale will solve the insurance problem

  8. Hmm..lets see. Try to manage, through properly managed forestry practices and allow the snow melt and rains to enter the aquifer and California could see massive improvement.
But then again libtards run that shithole

    1. The latest Libtard concern is that now that their preferred forest practices have allowed millions of acres of California forests to fry, there's no green canopy to shade the show pack and it will melt too quickly to enable the reservoirs to retain high levels in late summer, even in years of above average precipitation. And thus, no replenishing of the aquifers down steam.

There is no making these people happy. They were born to be miserable and to bring everyone else down to their level.

  10. You will own nothing, because you can't insure it.
