U.S. Defense Spending Continues To Spiral Out of Control

How much the U.S. should allocate to the Department of Defense remains a contentious topic in the debate over government spending.

After a great deal of chaos, on March 23—about halfway through the fiscal year—Congress approved an appropriations bill worth $825 billion for defense in FY 2024 to avoid a partial government shutdown, less than the $842 billion request by the administration. Not long before, on March 11, President Joe Biden's Administration submitted their request for FY 2025, which included $850 billion for defense.

  3. Doesn't even count replenishing the depleted "Strategic Petroleum Reserve" that Biden Drained to sell to CHINA. Just another brick in the wall of ignorance.

  4. Everyone is quite willing to tout the latest malfeasance of these hypocritical elites. What I would like a conversation about is this: What is the first thing that should be done after Trump takes over? In my humble opinion the first thing is SLAM THAT BORDER SHUT! Second thing is a toss up between defunding "...aid to foreign countries..." or cut the budgets of ALL government agencies by minimum 10%.
    Talk amongst yourselves.

  5. Defense? Where? Not here in the US of A! Lets bring every troop home, defend our boarders and let the world burn. That would cut 75% of this monstrosity, secure our Country and give a large number of people needing jobs to begin manufacturing things! I know, its a pipe dream!

    1. I agree and I work in the Aerospace/Defense industry! WTF are we defending? Lets run domestic energy production wide open and develop next gen nuclear power and tell the Mid East to go drown in their own oil. Bring all our manufacturing back from China. We can already grow all our own food but we need to stop wasting agriculture capacity on ethanol for gas. Then we just need a military to defend the southern border and the homeland. Keep the nukes for retaliation for any 9-11 style attacks. We should have either taken over Europe or just left it in ruins after WW2. They all hate us anyway. F em. We might have to consider annexing the populated part of Canada because apparanty they can't run it.
