White Privilege

Elayne Boosler, Rolling Stone’s “First Lady of Stand-Up,” expressed outrage after she says she was arrested for refusing to leave Dodger Stadium due to her handbag that violated the stadium’s bag policy.

She was handcuffed and placed in the back of a squad car by two officers whom she described as “very nice” but added that it may have been because she is white.

  1. God I long for the 1950s when bags at Ebbet's field were no big deal and the beer was 50 cents a glass.

  5. Usual "Don't you know WHO I am!" and security not caring. Followed by c list celebrity complaining for free publicity.

  6. "According to the Dodger Stadium bag policy, only adult diaper bags, diaper bags that accompany infants and clear plastic bags smaller than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ are permitted."

She should have claimed incontinence. I always liked her. I remember one of her stand-up routines; she was going to open a singles-only restaurant - no tables, you just ate over a kitchen sink.

  7. To begin, how many lives has the "clear bag" policy saved? Probably about...NONE.

Should've gotten a clear bag and put her purse in it. That would've confused the security ape for weeks.

    1. You have a point. Unfortunately it's the sign of the times (although I think the marathon bombers would've still been able to plant their bombs even if they had clear backpacks).
It's really just going thru the motions.
Can't really blame the security guard; it's his job.

  10. If she was a white conservative, she would have respected their rules and property rights. She's only had one funny joke EVER.
