A German discount grocer has seen an increase in business from American customers over the last year, as inflation remains stubbornly high and presents an ongoing threat to Americans’ financial security.
The Daily Caller reports that Aldi, the German-based grocer, saw a staggering 26% increase in foot traffic at its store in March compared to March of 2023. This rise far surpassed increases at other popular grocery store chains, including the 6% year-over-year increase at Kroger and the 15% increase at Trader Joe’s.
The most laughable thing about the way the Biden Reich cooks the inflation books is that it leaves out food and fuel, which are BY FAR the items whose cost increases are hurting consumers since Biden TOOK office! The fuel costs are actually wrapping around and affecting the costs of food due to shipping cost increases...
ReplyDeleteNothing to see here, folks... Move it along...
Under the real Reich, things got significantly better for the German people.
DeleteWell, except for the bombings every day and the massive losses of men and material in places with Russian or African names...
DeleteWe shop at Aldi. Some things are cheaper and better there but we use three grocers mostly. Aldi, Fareway and Wal Mart.
ReplyDeleteI'll still go to fareway. Their meat counter beats any other store (incl. Hy-vee)
DeleteAldi's is no frills and low prices.
I rarely use walmart.

Aldi has good food, if you don;t like it or defestive they give double money back.
ReplyDeleteTheir chocolate is great. Great spiral cut ham, good stuff all around.
Better potato chips than Freako Lay.
DeleteMy son and I started shopping at Aldi about three months ago. We still go to the old store for about 40-50% of groceries but like the article says Aldi's has a limited choice. Their eggs, milk, fruit, can goods and cheese are superior to our local stores. The prices are 15 to 50% less per line item. Only drawback is donating the quarter to "homeless" asshole working the parking lot.

The Aldi I go to doesn't have homeless panhandlers. I always leave the cart free, try to give it directly to nice old ladies or hot moms. MH
DeleteYou ain't been poor and broke unless you pick up all the change you can, it gets ingrained that every last cent counts.
DeleteThrowing out money leads to bad habits that will bite you in the ass in the very near future.
I keep my change and my dollar bills. Boortz told a story on his radio show about one of his listeners. The couple needed some sudden cash. He broke open his piggy bank and had save $42,000.

I like how they have their carts made up.

Years ago all the carts from the local store got borrowed to form a corral around some shit bag's vehicle.
DeleteThe Fat Electrician on Youtube has a in depth story on how Aldi and Trader Joe's came to be and why they are #1 and #2 in the country.
ReplyDeleteAldi's is cheaper by reducing choices and greatly reducing labor. I shop there and they have maybe 4 people in the entire store when they're busy. Usually they have less. Your typical full service grocery store had more people working the meat department than Aldi's has in the entire store.
ReplyDeleteI tend to shop Aldi's, Sam's Club, a local Indian grocery store, and occasionally a local Asian grocery store. I'll go to the local full service grocery store only when someone let's me know about a great deal. I'll buy that item only.
Traders Joes? Expensive, overpriced, over rated
ReplyDeleteWell, I went to Aldi, got a load of food, went through checkout, didn't pay lots of attention, got out to truck and saw they just dumped my purchases back in the cart, no bags or anything. Tossed the lot in back of truck, got it in house and put away, woke up around 3am to some noise outside and there was a possum in truck bed eating a pack of chicken I didn't see to take inside
