Instant street creds

A chaotic and violent situation unfolded in downtown Los Angeles early Sunday morning when a man stole an LAPD patrol vehicle with the officer still inside before causing a multi-vehicle pileup.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. when, according to police, a female officer was conducting “security detail” at 12th and Figueroa streets.

A 32-year-old man suspected of stealing a Sacramento Fire Department pickup truck on Saturday night was taken into custody after police shot pepper balls into the vehicle during a standoff in north Sacramento, police said.

Police said the Ford F-150 truck was reported stolen from Sacramento Fire Department Station 12 on 24th Street in the South Land Park area around 8:39 p.m.
