A TikToker got locked inside of her Tesla Model 3 for 40 minutes in the hot sun while it was installing a software update, and as of this writing her video has over 10.7 million plays after a single day of being online. Before you go jumping to conclusions about her ineptitude, Brianna Janel was actually following the rules laid out by Tesla.

Know how she feels, I want to destroy my F@#%, cellphone when this happens.
ReplyDeleteMy phone is so old it doesn't get updates anymore.
DeleteWell at least she didn't face the prospect of drowning as the water level slowly rose after she accidentally (drunkenly) backed into a pond.
ReplyDeleteWoman couldn't wait till she got home to allow update? I get Microsoft updates on my laptop once or twice a month, but I choose when to click the "update/restart".
ReplyDeleteNot my world. I've had a cell phone for several years. I've probably made two phone calls and maybe sent six texts. I have a plant and bird identifier I use on rare occasion. Oh probably taken ten pictures. It sets by my chair and is primairly for when my wife is out if she has a problem can contact me. Never, ever have I carried the damn thing around. I have a wonderful life to live and being tethered to a phone aint part of it.
ReplyDeleteSame. I've got a flip phone that I say is my truck phone, but I rarely if ever carry it. I think I've made 2 calls on it in 3 years and have never sent a text. I'm not even sure if I can access the internet with it, and I really don't care.
DeleteNo Tesla for me. Ever. Not even if it was free. A car that can be remotely disabled, for any reason, is a total showstopper.
ReplyDeleteEven as a technologist who disdains technology without a real use (I too have a flip phone). Any sense of empathy I might have had for "Brianna" disappeared when I saw her nails (in the video). No way can she hold a real job with those work-stoppers on the ends of her fingers. My opionion is she's just another self-entitled whiner that's accustomed to being coddled by the world.
ReplyDeleteThey can take these EVs and their EV mandates and bullshit and stick them up their ass sideways....
ReplyDeleteFive years ago I met two guys in a parking lot each with Teslas. I was interested in what owners really thought about them. Neither car would move. Apparently each of them had driven to the grocery store not knowing that the software was being updated. Driving crashed the software and both had to be flat bedded
ReplyDeleteto the dealership. I have not been interested in an electric car since then.
