-An elderly Walmart greeter suffered “injuries to his face and head” after being punched in the eye by a North Carolina man whose girlfriend was angry that she had been asked to show her receipt, police report.
And if the 68 year old had suffered serious life-threatening injuries, the boy friend might be facing attempted manslaughter or murder charges and his woman charged as an accessory? Guess she & he didn't stop to think about that.
I just smile and say no thank you if anyone asks to see my receipt. Of course, it is also rare to be in a walmart in an area they feel the need to do this in.
Apparently Birdbrain doesn’t understand under most state’s laws the don’t have the right to ask to see your receipt. They can either detain you if they suspect you of theft or they can let you walk out with the goods you just paid for, and therefor own. A polite No just acknowledges you understand the law. They know they have no other options.
Starker here, Think?, yeah that really happens, not! Misdemeanor assault? Considering the age of the attacker, it should be elevated to felony bc the victim is a senior citizen.
Three people should be locked up here; the greeter-beater dindus, and whoever thought it was a good idea to make people check themselves out of a store, and then make them prove they did the store's job right on the way out the door!
